Choosing your wedding photographer is a big decision, I know first-hand! It’s an investment that should be considered carefully because after your wedding day your images will be the only tangible to remember the magic of the day you said I Do!

#1 CHOOSE BASED ON YOUR PREFERRED STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Look for photographers who edit & photograph in a way that aligns with your style or the style that you are drawn to the most.

Not sure? Take a look at your wedding Pinterest Board (you’ve probably had a secret one since your first date. Oh, only me?). Pull out your favorite 3-5 images and look at what they have in common. Are they cooler or warmer toned? Saturated or lighter? Dark and moody or light and airy? You’re likely drawn to images photographed and edited in a certain way.

There are literally thousands of photographers and we’re all a little bit

different (which I think is super cool) so just because your cousin’s best friend recommended her photographer and she’s in budget doesn’t mean you will necessarily love your images. Not because she’s a bad photographer but she might edit dark & moody and you are drawn to light & bright!

#2 YOUR BUDGET

Obviously budget is a major consideration when booking all of your wedding vendors. When it comes to photography it’s important to remember that your images will be the only tangible way to remember your moments and memories forever. Your images will become heirlooms that are passed from generation to generation and are therefore an investment.

If you’re in love with a photographer and connect with them, I can assure you they are worth the investment! A quality photographer will ensure your investment is well taken care of by providing you with the best images and experience possible!

#3 BOOK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER EARLY

If you know you want to work with a specific photographer be sure to contact them early on in your process. I am only one person and I commit your wedding date 100% to you so dates do book up. Your photographer can also recommend vendors that they know and love working with to help you plan your dream wedding! Your photographer also wants to be sure to get you all the images you deserve and can support you through the process on ceremony time, etc to ensure the best light of the day!

#4 CONNECT WITH AND LIKE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER AS A PERSON

You will spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day and they will be involved in some of the most special moments of your life. Be sure that you like them and that your vibes connect. It’s equally important to love a photographer’s style and to connect with them!
